Isao Takahashi serves as the Senior Vice President of Innovation since 2025 and oversees R&D and new ventures business development in INPEX Corporation. His responsibilities range from innovative R&D of diverse low-carbon technologies and efficient mineral extraction technology up to technology commercialization, start-up ventures investment and pioneering new business dimensions for INPEX.

He has more than 30 years of professional experiences in and around the E&P industry and has taken key positions such as directorship of the INPEX Abu Dhabi offshore and onshore upstream assets, general managements of Subsurface Evaluation and of Technical Planning for INPEX Technical Headquarters, and management for deepwater exploration project, East Malaysia.

He received B.E. and M.E. from University of Tokyo in 1991 and 1993, respectively, and Ph.D. in geophysics from Stanford University in 2000.
