Dr. Phung Quoc Huy is a distinguished energy researcher with over 25 years of experience in carbon capture, clean coal technology, and critical mineral supply chains. He holds a Ph.D. in Earth Resources Engineering from Kyushu University, Japan, and has played a key role in shaping energy policies across the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr. Huy is currently a Senior Researcher at the Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC). He has led studies on carbon capture and storage, methane emissions, and critical minerals. Additionally, he has authored important reports, including the APERC Coal Reports, the Viet Nam Energy Demand and Supply Outlook, and the Viet Nam Energy Overview.

His prior roles include research positions at Kyushu University and leadership roles at the Institute of Mining Science and Technology in Vietnam, where he enhanced mine safety and risk management practices.

Dr. Huy has published extensively, with numerous journal articles, conference papers, and research reports to his name. He has also served as an adjunct lecturer at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology and a guest lecturer at Kyoto University.
