Shinya Naka serves as the Senior Vice President of the Environmental Energy Group CEO Office at Mitsubishi Corporation, a role he assumed in April 2024. He leads the group’s strategic planning focusing on oil & gas including LNG and low-carbon energy businesses, aligning with the global shift towards decarbonization.
After joining Mitsubishi Corporation in 1993, Shinya began his career in the carbon products department. His early career was marked by significant roles that expanded his expertise in energy, including a period as a company-sponsored MBA student at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2000, and positions at PT. Donggi-Senoro LNG in Jakarta and various units within Mitsubishi's Natural Gas Business Divisions.
From 2013 onward, Shinya's roles increasingly focused on strategic planning at both corporate and group levels, refining his leadership skills within the natural gas business. He served as General Manager in Americas Natural Gas Department and later as President and CEO of Diamond Gas North America Corporation in Houston before his most recent roles in Mitsubishi's CEO offices for the Natural Gas Group and newly formed Environmental Energy Group. His extensive background in energy business strategy and leadership roles have made him a key figure in guiding Mitsubishi’s adaptation to the evolving energy landscape.
